The Fisher House Foundation serves the families of military service members
and veterans by providing no-cost housing for families to stay in while
their loved ones receive medical treatment and care.
Fisher House centers are conveniently located near numerous military and veteran treatment centers across the nation, allowing families to remain close to their loved ones. There, families have access to warm and inviting communal living spaces, dining rooms, kitchens, and laundry facilities, as well as up to 21 suites containing private bedrooms and bathrooms.
Housing is always provided completely free of cost to these families and, to date, the program has saved approximately $360 million in lodging and transportation costs for the families of injured military members and veterans.
In addition to its housing program, the Fisher House Foundation has also instituted a Hero Miles program. Through donated frequent flyer miles, this program allows the families and loved ones of injured military members and veterans to travel to the medical care centers where their loved ones are being treated. The foundation’s Hotels for Heroes program also covers the hotel costs for these family members through donated hotel points, allowing them to remain close to their loved ones while they are treated and during their recoveries.
Additionally, the foundation actively supports other charitable initiatives for military members and their families through its grant program, providing financial and other support in the form of donations, scholarship funds, and programs for the spouses, children, and family members of wounded and fallen veterans.
